分析《第三极》翻译策略

数字媒介的日趋兴盛加速了纪录片的跨国界传播。中央电视台放映的纪录片《第三极》讲述了青藏高原人民与自然和谐相处的故事。该纪录片是一部面向全世界的少数民族纪录片,其英文配音版在国际频道也备受青睐。本文将以文献法展开研究,集中分析了纪录片《第三极》的翻译策略,全篇分为五个章节。首先介绍该纪录片的相关背景。其次是翻译策略及中文纪录片英译特点的文献综述。接下来是对该纪录片运用的归化策略和异化策略进行研究。最后为结论,探究该部纪录片翻译策略将对同类影视作品翻译有一定借鉴意义。

Abstract

The development of digital medium accelerates documentaries’ international broadcasting. The documentary Roof of the World,which CCTV has broad-casted, tells the harmonious stories between Tibetans and the nature. This is a documentary which faces the whole world, and its English dubbing version is popular in international channel. This dissertation uses literature method, mainly concentrates on translation strategies of Roof of the World. The thesis includes five chapters. Firstly, it is a relevant background introduction of this documentary. Secondly, some relevant literature reviews on translation strategies and C-E documentary translation features are introduced. Then it is a study of domestication strategy and foreignization strategy in Roof of the World. Finally, it concludes that this documentary’s research of translation strategies will be useful for similar video works’ translation.
