舍伍德·安德森作品中的宗教影响

As an indispensable part of Western culture, religion has a fundamental impact on humanity. American writer Sherwood Anderson reflected social conflicts in his view of religion. Aiming to study the connection between religion and Anderson’s works, this paper interprets Anderson and his works based on the influence of religion. Firstly, we clarify the development of American Puritanism to provide a study background for the research; Secondly, we make in-depth study of author's own life experience to understand how his experience shaped his concept of religion; Thirdly, we study the influence of religion as a potential factor in Adventure and The Untold Lie in the method of comparison and do intensive research in the religious story Godliness to explore how religion shaped human nature in American small-town culture. And finally, we reach the conclusion that the religious influence in Anderson’s works is actually his religious view reflected in his writings.

摘  要
作为西方文化中长期以来不可或缺的一部分，宗教对人性塑造有着根本的影响。美国作家舍伍德·安德森在其作品中体现出的宗教观一定程度上反映了当时的社会变化。本文旨在研究宗教与安德森作品之间的联系，并根据宗教的影响来分析安德森及其作品。本文从宗教的角度展开对安德森及其作品的解读，首先理清美国本土清教主义的发展的脉络，为研究提供美国宗教的环境背景; 其次对作者本人的人生经历深入探究，了解其经历对宗教观的塑造; 再结合具有代表性的作品，对比研究《曾经沧海》和《未告人的谎言》中宗教作为潜在因素的影响以及《虔诚》中宗教这一明确因素的影响，探讨宗教在美国小镇文化中对人性的影响与塑造,并得出结论，说明安德森作品中的宗教影响的体现实际上也是其在作品中反映的宗教观念。
