从杨宪益夫妇译本看《红楼梦》中的提示语翻译As one of the four greatest classics in China, A Dream of Red Mansions enjoys a high reputation all over the world. There are two famous English translations: one is The Story of the Stone translated by David Hawkes and the other is A Dream of Red Mansions by Yang Xianyi and Gladys. Till now, most of the researches have concentrated on the translation of contents, the translation techniques, etc. rather than the brilliant managements of details, especially the marked words.
Marked words are employed to describe the facial expressions, the mood of people when they speak, for example, “he speaks with a smile”. In the source text, hundreds and thousands of conversations exist, let alone the marked words. If only dealt with in the same way, the translation would be dull. In order to translate diversely to better convey the author’s real intention, Yang couple adopted various translation techniques and adjusted sentence patterns to make a rearrangement for the marked words.
First of all, the paper will classify various translation forms of the marked words, then analyze the translation techniques one by one and probe into the specialty of such adjustments. Finally, some problems will be discussed to get improved in the process of studying.

摘 要
众所周知，作为中国古代四大名著之一的《红楼梦》在国内外都享有很高的声誉。关于它，有两个非常著名的英文译本：一本是由霍克斯翻译，译名为《石头记》；另一本由杨宪益夫妇翻译，译名为《红楼梦》。该论文主要着眼于第二个译本，因其优秀的翻译，很多学者都十分愿意研究它，但是遗憾的是大部分研究都集中于内容和翻译技巧上，对于译文中的许多细节，尤其是提示语的翻译研究甚少。
提示语是指对人物说话时的语气、表情等进行描写，对说话人当前的心理状态做进一步的呈现，如“他笑着说”。在《红楼梦》原文本中，人物的对话成千上万，提示语更是数不胜数，如果都一味地只做简单处理，译文将显得平淡且没有新意。为了翻译多样化,从而更好地传达作者的想法，杨宪益夫妇在译文中运用各种翻译技巧和句式变换对提示语做了准确到位的处理。
该论文首先对杨译本中的提示语翻译形式进行归纳分类，然后逐一分析杨译本中提示语的具体翻译技巧并总结其独到之处，最后指出在研究中遇到的问题和需要提升之处。
