从《了不起的盖茨比》中的人物看美国梦的破灭

As the spokesman of Jazz Age, F·Scott·Fitzgerald was one of the greatest writers in the 1920s in American Literature, and also the representative writer of “Lost Generation”. The Great Gatsby is his masterpiece, which was considered as one of the works of great literary value in the literary arena in 20th century. The novel narrates tragic life of Gatsby. He devoted everything to realizing his dream. Eventually, he died with the disillusionment of his dream. This thesis focuses on analysis of main characters. Through the analysis of background information, meaning of American dream in different period, the roots of Gatsby’s tragedy, it gives a further comprehension about the degeneration of the American dream and tragic ending.

摘  要
作为爵士时期的代言人，菲茨杰拉德是二十世纪二十年代美国文坛伟大作家之一，他是迷惘的一代的代表作家。《了不起的盖茨比》是他的代表作，被誉为二十世纪美国最具文学价值的小说之一。小说主要讲述了盖茨比悲剧的一生。他倾其所有去实现他的梦想。最终他的生命却随着他的梦想的幻灭消逝。本篇论文从小说主要人物分析着手，通过对背景信息，美国梦在不同时期的含义，以及盖茨比悲剧的根源多方面的分析，深刻揭示了美国梦的幻灭和悲剧的形成。
