好莱坞电影中的中国元素

Film is not only an art, but also an essential medium for expressing cultural values and ideology . Especially into the the 21st century，film becomes one of the most effective medium to enhance cultural communication and transfer national cultures .Today，Hollywood movies are seen as the model of world film and spread the American cultural values throughout the world .With the development of economic globalization and China's economy rising , those stereotypical prejudice owing to different social system and cultural or ethnic discrimination seem to be weakening. Hollywood movies appeared more and more "Chinese elements".Even today, the Chinese elements are indispensable for Hollywood. The Chinese element refers to images, symbols or customs that have been recognized by most Chinese people , condense the spirit of the Chinese nation’s traditional culture and embody the national dignity .And these significant elements include Chinese actors, Chinese kungfu and Chinese folk customs, etc.This phenomenon shows that the improvement of China’s overall national strength and international status has greatly promoted national culture . Meanwhile, it also illustrates the enormous potential of the Chinese market and its attractive to Hollywood .Chinese elements have a certain history and different stages in Hollywood . From the end of the nineteenth century to the beginning of the twentieth century, there are some typical Chinese images in Hollywood ,such as detective Chan Charlie and the evil force Fu Manchu. By the end of the twentieth century, Chinese kungfu entered the Western world and was deeply favored by it and gradually solidified into the Chinese symbol in the mind of Americans. In addition，the Chinese elements in Hollywood movies are rich in national colors, including ancient civilizations and mysterious kungfu cultures .
This essay is divided into three chapters. The first chapter mainly introduce the  Chinese elements in Hollywood, including the connotation of Chinese elements and the reasons for using Chinese elements. The second chapter about the Hollywood's application in China ,and describe the Chinese elements used in Hollywood movies, including the ancient civilization and the mysterious Chinese kungfu. The third chapter is mainly the enlightenment brought by this cultural phenomenon .Finally ,the conclusion summarizes the paper.

摘  要
电影,不仅仅是一门艺术，同时也是表达文化价值和意识形态的重要媒介。进入二十一世纪后，电影已逐渐成为促进国际文化交流和传播民族文化的重要媒介之一。如今，好莱坞电影被看作是世界电影的典范，在全球各地都很好的传播了美国形象和美国文化价值观。随着经济全球化的发展和中国经济和国际地位的崛起和提升，那些由于社会制度的不同、种族或文化歧视等偏见逐渐弱化。好莱坞电影中越来越多的出现了“中国元素”。中国元素是指凡是被大多数中国人认同的、凝结着华夏民族传统文化精神，并体现国家尊严和民族利益的形象、符号或风俗习惯。这些中国元素包括了中国演员、中国功夫、中国民俗等。如今中国元素正逐渐成为好莱坞电影的重要组成部分。这种现象，一方面说明中国综合国力和国际地位的提升极大地促进了本民族文化在世界范围内的传播，另一方面也说明中国市场自身的巨大潜力以及对好莱坞电影的强大吸引力。中国元素在好莱坞电影中有一定的发展历史，从十九世纪末到二十世纪初，好莱坞电影中典型的中国人形象包括名侦探陈查理，邪恶力量傅满洲。到了二十世纪末，中国功夫进入西方世界并深受其青睐，并逐渐固化为美国人心中的中国标志。好莱坞电影中的中国元素带有浓厚的民族色彩，包括历史悠久的文明古国和神秘的功夫文化。
本论文一共分为三大章，第一章内容主要是介绍好莱坞中出现的中国元素，包括中国元素的内涵及影响好莱坞运用中国元素的原因，第二章内容讲述中国元素在好莱坞的发展历程以及分析好莱坞电影里经典的中国元素，包括伟大的古代文明和神秘的中国功夫。第三章主要是这一文化现象带给我们的启示，最后对论文加以总结。
