身份的转化--对《谁是爱尔兰人？》的文化解读
通过分析《谁是爱尔兰人？》中华裔美国人在日常生活习惯、教育方式，对爱情和婚姻的看法及自我人生价值的实现等方面所持的态度在融入美国社会过程中所发生的变化，本文展现了华工移民及其子女们在试图变成美国人的过程中所经历的身份变化，论述了任碧莲的文化身份观，即文化身份并非一成不变，而是以流动性和混合性为特征。并针对其中原因以及当前世界文化发展的趋势提出正确对待文化身份的建议，帮助读者从新的视角来认识华裔美国人并正确对待中美文化之间的差异。

Interpretation of Who’s Irish?
Abstract: By analyzing Protagonists in Who’s Irish?, that is, Chinese Americans’ changes of attitudes concerning with daily life habits, education modes, ideas of love and marriage, and realization of self values in their process of integration into American society, the paper reveals identity changes of Chinese immigrants and their children experienced when trying to transform into Americans, discusses Gish Jen's ideas of cultural identity, that is, it is not immutable and frozen, but with features of transformation and integration. And considering causes and trends of current development of world’s culture, the paper also puts forward some suggestions on treating issues of cultural identity correctly, so as to help readers recognize Chinese Americans from new perspective and treat well differences of American and Chinese culture.
