以弗洛伊德理论浅析亨利•詹姆斯在《快乐的一角》中的写作技巧

亨利•詹姆斯是十九世纪美国伟大的现实主义作家，他被誉为西方现代心理分析小说的开创者。《快乐的一角》作为詹姆斯后期最受欢迎的作品之一，充分体现了詹姆斯成熟的写作技巧和独特的艺术风格。本论文主要援引弗洛伊德理论中的意识理论、人格学说和梦境解析，试图从跨学科的角度对《快乐的一角》中的写作手法进行解析。除了对詹姆斯式意识流和心理刻画的分析，本论文还创新性地提出了“心理-梦境”法来解读文本中的象征手法。本论文研究旨在为解读詹姆斯的现代主义写作手法提供一个新的视角，并为提高英语学习者的写作水平提供帮助。

Abstract

Being a greatest American realistic novelist in nineteenth, Henry James is renowned as a progenitor of modern psychoanalytic novels in occidental literature. The Jolly Corner, one of James’ most popular works, is a full blossom of Jamesian writing techniques and aesthetic style. This thesis resorts to Freud by applying his theory of the conscious, theory of personalities, and dream interpretation so as to re-scrutinise the writing techniques implemented in The Jolly Corner in an interdisciplinary fashion. Besides these analyses of Jamesian consciousness and psychoanalysis, this paper, in light of Freudian theory, comes up with a fresh and original idea of “psycho-dream” to decipher the symbolism hidden in the text. The study of this paper aims to proffer a brand-new outlook to interpret the Jamesian modern writing techniques as well as to help elevate foreign English learners’ writing techniques.
