澳大利亚难民的媒体呈现——以带有图片的新闻文本分析为例
全球对难民的关注空前高涨。作为一个移民国家，澳大利亚因多元文化而闻名世界。然而，澳大利亚的难民却总被看作是“非法移民”、“插队者”、“连环虐童者”等等。一旦澳大利亚人认为难民们是一种社会威胁，他们就会在意识形态上对难民抱有成见，这也不得不使我们怀疑澳大利亚的多元文化。因此，对难民的媒体呈现之研究意义重大。
本文作者在介绍了难民和媒体呈现之后，重点对文本分析和新闻呈现进行了深入地探讨。文本分析是传媒学习中的重要工具。作者通过对“落水儿童”事件的文本分析以及新闻媒体所发布图片的先后对比，揭示了政府和媒体是如何肆意地操纵图片，通过欺瞒不了解难民的民众以达到巩固自身统治的目的。

A Study of Media Representations of Asylum Seekers and Refugees in Australia
——through Textual Analysis of Visual News
Abstract
World interest in refugees has perhaps never been as great as it is today. Australia, an immigration country, has long been enjoying the reputation as being a multi-cultural society. However, asylum seekers and refugees in Australia are always referred to as “unauthorized immigrants”, “queue jumpers”, “serial child-abusers” and so on. Once refugees are regarded as a threat, people tend to have this dominant ideological stereotype to treat asylum seekers and refugees, which makes us suspicious of its multi-culture. Therefore, it is believed that the study of media representation of refugees in Australia is of tangible value.
After having an introduction to refugees and media representation, the author carries a deep probe into textual analysis and newspaper representation. A case study is applied to the visual news of Children Overboard affair. Through the comparison of the sequential release of several pictures by the media, it is fully shown how the elite group manipulates media to be in their favor and how media cheats on common people who have little access towards the truth about refugees.
