论《推销员之死》的悲剧性和警世意义

阿瑟·密勒(1915-2005)是二十世纪美国杰出的剧作家。他的代表作《推销员之死》讲述了推销员威利·洛曼追求名利迷失自我最后自杀的悲剧故事。作品抨击了战后美国社会价值观的空洞和虚伪，揭示了扭曲价值观给人们带来的不幸和灾难。本文通过对威利悲剧命运的简述，探究其悲剧形成原因，并分析错误价值观给个人、家庭和社会带来的危害。文章旨在警醒读者思考当今社会以金钱名利为成功准绳的扭曲价值观问题，希望读者能在浮华的社会表象中看清生命的本真意义。

Abstract

Arthur Miller (1915-2005) is an outstanding American playwright in 20th century. His masterpiece, Death of a Salesman, depicts a tragic story of a common salesman Willy Loman. Willy blindly seeks for fame and fortune all through his life but loses himself. As a result, Willy chooses death as the redemption, which stages a tragic ending. This play reveals the cost of the blind faith in false value and condemns the hypocrisies of the empty national myth. By analyzing the causes of Willy’s tragic fate and exploring the harmful effects of the false value, this thesis intends to warn the current people of the destructiveness of the false value, hoping that they can find the true meaning of life in this impetuous society.
