Abstract
The Kite Runner, which is favorably reviewed and brings out resonance, is the debut novel of the Afghan-American writer Khaled Hosseini. The story talks about the betrayal and redemption of two Afghan boys. The kite is an essential clue that runs through the full text. By exploring the symbolic meanings of the kite for Afghanistan and the main characters Amir and Hassan, this paper reveals the deep connotation of the book. Through the analysis of the symbol kite, the paper hopes to arouse the public’s thinking about the resuscitation and self-redemption of humanity and to manifest the kindness of human nature. In the meantime, the paper intends to make the public cherish peace and life through the understanding of the experience of Afghanistan.
