从目的论角度看中国公司网页中企业简介的英译


在经济全球化不断加快的进程中,企业简介的英译对于树立良好的企业形象、提高企业的国际竞争力具有十分重要的意义。本文运用“目的论”对企业简介英译进行分析。“目的论”要求翻译活动必须依据翻译目的,“目的”准则是翻译的第一准则,翻译行为由行为的目的决定,翻译策略也取决于翻译所服务的目的,即目的决定手段。在“目的论”框架中,翻译的最重要因素之一是受众,他们有自己的文化背景知识、对译文的期待以及交际需求。
本文以“目的论”为框架,对企业简介英译中存在的语用、文化和语言三个方面的问题进行了分析和讨论,从宏观层面探讨了企业简介英译策略:整体上应当遵循归化原则。并且从词语、句子两个微观层面探讨了企业简介翻译的具体方法。最后得出结论:企业简介英译应该实现树立企业形象、对外推介的目的,并遵从译文读者的语言文化习惯。

C-E Translation of Chinese Corporate Profiles on the Websites from the Perspective of Skopostheorie

Abstract
Along with the development of economic globalization, English translation of profiles of Chinese corporations is of great importance for the corporations to present a good image and improve the international competitiveness. In this paper, the author attempts to carry out a study on the C-E translation of corporate profiles under the framework of Skopostheorie. The main content of Skopostheorie is that the most important rule for translation is the “Skopos rule”. The rule means that a translation action is mainly determined by its Skopos (the purpose) and, the translation strategies must serve the Skopos of translation. In the framework of Skopostheorie, the target addressee, who is the intended receiver or reader of the target text and has the corresponding culture, expectation and communicative requirements, remains another pretty important factor which determines the purpose of a translation.
In this paper, from the perspective of Skopostheorie, the author analyzes the pragmatic, cultural and linguistic translation errors found in some sample translation of corporate profiles selected from the websites and concludes that macroscopically, domestication strategy is suggested. Furthermore, several specific translation methods respectively at lexical level and syntactical level have been put forward. In the last part, the paper comes to its conclusion: as the most important purpose of a corporate profile is to promote the corporation and set a good image in the world market, the translation of corporate profiles should serve the purpose of the company and conform to the different conventions of target language as well.
