从功能对等理论的角度分析商务信函中英语缩略语的翻译
商务合同中缩略语的大量使用促进了贸易者之间的交流也提高了贸易的效率。然而，商务英语中缩略语的种类繁多，而且指导翻译的理论数量也相对较少。本文将尤金·A·奈达的功能对等理论: 目的语读者者对译文反应同母语读者看到原语后的反应相同作为理论基准。根据商务信函中英语缩略语的功能，本论文将他们主要分为四类：单位的缩略语，支付条件的缩略语，运输与保险的缩略语，组织与机构的缩略语。本文试图通过大量举例并分析各类缩略语的特点找到合适的翻译策略，以期达到功能对等效应。作者希望本研究能对从事国际商务贸易的人有所帮助。

Translation of English Abbreviations in Business Letters from the Perspective of Functional Equivalence Theory
Abstract
The large use of abbreviations in business letters promotes the communication between traders and improves the efficiency of the business. However, types of business English abbreviations are diverse and the guiding translation theories are relatively few in number. It sets many barriers for people to translate and exchange the information properly. This thesis uses Eugene﹒A﹒Nida’s functional equivalence theory that target language readers are expected to have the same response with source language readers towards the translation as the theoretical benchmark. According to the functions of the English abbreviations in business letters, this thesis divides them into four main types: abbreviations of units, abbreviations of payment terms, abbreviations of transportations and insurance, abbreviations of organizations and institutions. This thesis uses many examples to analyze the features of these abbreviations and tries to find out appropriate translation methods to achieve functional equivalent effect. The author hopes that the study is helpful to people who work in international trade.
