占有欲在《福尔赛世家》中的体现与影响

《福尔赛世家》是英国著名小说家约翰·高尔斯华绥(1867-1933)的力作。书中描绘了福尔赛家族三代人的沧桑起伏。这一时期正值资本主力垄断时期。作为英国中上流社会成员，这一资产阶级家族为我们展现了他们在财产、婚姻方面的处事观念。故事的结局是悲剧的，主人公们在各自的情感利益纠葛中，并没有得到各自的期望，剩下的只有枉然与遗憾。这不禁触发了我对这种悲剧的思考，其背后的原因是什么。纵观整个三部曲，会发现资产阶级的一个特质贯彻整部作品，那就是“占有欲”。因此本文从这一观念着手，着重分析占有欲在作品中的体现和影响，折射出当时资产阶级的财产观和婚姻观。

Abstract

The Forsyte Saga is the masterpiece of English novelist John Galsworthy (1867-1933). The story covered the ups and downs of three generations in the Forsyte clan at a time when the capitalism went into monopoly. This upper-middle-class and bourgeois family demonstrate their ways in property and marriage. Unfortunately, the protagonists all end up in tragedy. They were wistful at what they had done and what they had lost. I feel called upon to study the reason behind it. There is one thing in my consideration holding the trilogy together. That is possessiveness, which is a salient attribute of the bourgeoisie. Thus, I focus on my study on this issue and make the paper from that perspective. The code of conduct in the Forsyte clan is the representation of their opinions on property and marriage.
