解密《毛猿》中的社会空间理论

《毛猿》是美国诺贝尔文学奖获得者尤金·奥尼尔在1921年创作的一部经典戏剧，它揭露了资本主义生产关系中工人阶级的迷惘。法国思想家列斐伏尔曾指出：社会空间是社会生产关系的产物，不同的生产关系产出不同的社会空间。本文旨在解密《毛猿》中的社会空间理论。本文由五个章节组成，首先介绍了论文的研究意义、结构和文献综述。其次解密了社会空间理论中一个最重要的因素—抽象空间，这既是作品的发生背景亦是列斐伏尔空间理论的重点部分。然后解密了这部作品中的其它社会空间理论。最后对全文做了总结，并以图像的形式对《毛猿》中的社会空间进行了可视化。

Abstract

The Hairy Ape is a classic play written in 1921 by an American Nobel laureate, Eugene O'Neill, revealing the bewilderment of working class in the capitalist relations of production. Lefebvre, the French thinker, once pointed out that social space is the product of relations of production and that different relations of production produce different social space. This paper is aimed to decrypt social space theory in The Hairy Ape. It is composed of five chapters. First, it introduces the paper’s study significance, organization and literary review. Next it is followed by the decryption of one of the most important elements of social space theory—absolute space, which is also the play’s setting and the focus of Lefebvre’s social space theory. Then it engages in the decryption of peripheral social space theory in the play. At last, it sums up the main content of the paper and provides a chart to visualize the social space in The Hairy Ape.
