由于历史沿革、现实制度、社会分工、教材编写、教学观念等原因，在中学各学科中，
历史课处于十分尴尬的境地。学生对历史学习的兴趣不高，教师不愿教，学生也不愿学，历史教学出现了巨大的危机。如何应对危机，是任其发展还是继续改革，这关系到我们国家民族的发展、兴亡。
