排球运动实践表明：良好的战术意识有助于运动员在比赛中正确的判断与选择自己行动的时机、路线、方式和目标；有助于运动员在比赛中将自己的行动合理而有效的纳入全队的整体战术配合体系；有助于运动员在比赛中，依据攻防对抗的实际需要，随机应变的选择攻防对抗的最佳方式和有效的攻防手段，基于排球战术意识对技、战术的应用所具有的先导、保证、激活、和促进作用的基本认识，可以认为，深入的分析研究排球战术意识概念、结构、内容、核心、培养等问题，对培养、提高中学排球队员的战术意识水平，促进中学排球运动的发展具有不可或缺的作用。
