本文旨在通过对英语习语特点的探讨，结合美国翻译理论家尤金奈达的动态对等理论，总结英语习语翻译的方法及应遵循的原则。文章分为四部分：第一部分介绍英语习语，包括各种英语习语的定义、习语的分类和特征,主要介绍了英语习语的特征;第二部分简要介绍了归化和异化两种基本翻译策略，从文化因素方面考虑解决习语翻译问题，重点介绍了奈达的动态对等理论；第三部分基于奈达的动态对等理论，讨论了英语习语汉译的惯常用法，具体介绍了六种习语翻译方法；最后一部分总结全文主要观点。本文的结论是，英语翻译方法的选择并不是绝对的。应考虑一些具体的因素，如翻译目的、文本类型、译者所持的态度等。只有辩证的对待翻译方法才有利于翻译研究的进一步发展。

The Translation Approaches of English Idioms Based on Dynamic Equivalence
Abstract
This thesis is composed of four parts. The first part, a general introduction to English idioms, mainly discusses the different definitions of English idioms, the range and forms of English idioms and the features of English idioms. The focus is on the introduction of the features of English idioms.
The second part, the thesis is aimed at finding a solution to the problem of cultural transplantation in idiom translation. There are two fundamental strategies, domestication and foreignization in dealing with cultural factors in translation. And the part focuses on introducing Nida’s dynamic equivalence theory which guide the research of idiom translation.
Guided by Nida’s dynamic equivalence theory, the forth part is the discussion of translation techniques of Chinese translation of English idioms based on the application of Nida’s theory and dynamic equivalence. Six translation approaches have been proposed specifically with the application of Nida’s theory to idioms translation.
The last part is the conclusion which summarizes the main viewpoints of the thesis.
The conclusion of the thesis is that the choice of translating approaches is not absolutely, it depends on many factors like the purpose of translation, the style of the original text and the attitude of a translator.
