试论在英语教学中培养跨文化意识

摘  要：语言与文化密不可分。不了解文化也就不能真正掌握语言。外语学习不仅是语言学习，也是文化学习，尤其要培养学生的跨文化意识，让学生具备运用这门语言进行跨文化交际的能力。可由于传统教学方法的影响及其他相关原因，跨文化意识培养在英语教学中常被忽视，学生的跨文化交际能力远未得到培养。本文通过对学生进行文化测试和问卷调查，提出英语教学中存在的问题，具体分析了学生跨文化意识薄弱的原因，进一步阐述了英语教学中培养跨文化意识的迫切性，并总结了跨文化意识的培养方法以及培养跨文化意识应注意遵循的原则。

A Tentative Study of Developing Intercultural Awareness in English Teaching

Abstract: Language and culture are inseparable. If we don’t understand the culture, we can’t really master the language. Foreign language learning is not only the language learning, but also the culture learning. Intercultural awareness, especially, should be developed so that students can have the competence to use language to fulfill the successful intercultural communication. However, the intercultural awareness cultivation is often ignored in English teaching and intercultural communication competence of the students is far from being developed because of the influence of traditional teaching methods and other related reasons. Through a survey including cultural test and questionnaire, this thesis tries to find out problems in English teaching. Then based on the analysis of the reasons why students have less intercultural awareness, it further points out the urgency of cultivating students’ intercultural awareness. Finally, the thesis concludes the methods and approaches that could be followed during development of intercultural awareness.
