《傲慢与偏见》中的女性教育主题

出版于1813年的《傲慢与偏见》是奥斯丁最早的一部作品，从某种意义上来讲也是她最成功的一部作品。奥斯丁在伊丽莎白和达西的爱情婚姻故事框架中演译女性教育主题，探讨青年男女如何在社会和时代的压力下寻找自己婚姻的出路，就当时的女性教育，婚姻习俗等问题发表了自己的看法。这篇论文将通过对伊丽莎白自我成长的系统分析，对小说中的女性教育主题做一定的研究。爱情不是该小说的主线，女性教育才是小说的主题，伊丽莎白和达西的爱情故事只是作者借以展示教育主题的工具。

The Female Education Theme in Pride and Prejudice

 Pride and Prejudice, published in 1813, is Jane Austen’s earliest work, and in some senses also one of her most mature works. In this novel, Jane Austen discusses the theme of female education within the framework of love-marriage story of Elizabeth and Darcy, probing into the issue how adolescents seek their way out under the social pressure at their times, and expressing her views upon the current issues of women education, marriage custom and so on. Making a systematic analysis of Elizabeth’s self-growth, the present thesis attempts to shed some light on the theme of female education in this novel. It argues that female education instead of love is the major concern and “the love story between Darcy and Elizabeth is only a tool by which the writer brings forth the issue of women’s education”（Liu 3）.
