浅谈大学英语精读在诸课程中的地位

On the Status of Intensive Reading in the Curriculum of College English
Abstract: In china’s current environment of teaching and learning English, reading is the most basic, most important and most frequently used method of learning English. At this level, the main reading object is the text in English textbooks. The main reading method is intensive reading. In this article, the paper briefly states overview of intensive reading, including the definition of intensive reading, the content and characteristics and intensive reading of the Anglo-American countries; the paper deals with the development of intensive reading course; the paper deals with two kinds of attitudes towards intensive reading，indicating its standpoint for intensive reading; the paper demonstrates the roles of intensive reading from three aspects——personal career, comprehensive English skills and cultural awareness, in which the paper respectively deals with roles of intensive reading in listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation. The paper distinctively concludes the importance of intensive reading in comprehensive English skills and cultural awareness; finally, the paper put forwards some suggestions from different angles.

浅谈大学英语精读在诸课程中的地位
摘要:在当前英语教学环境中，精读是最基本的英语学习和阅读方法。精读课是大学英语诸课程的桥梁，为听力、阅读和写作等课程奠定基础。文章分别从三个方面论述了精读的作用：精读会影响到个人事业的发展，对提高英语综合技能起着基础性作用，对提高大学生文化修养起重要作用。就英语综合技能方面，文章以精读课为载体，从基础知识的学习和听说读写译能力的培养等方面论述了精读课在大学英语课程中的地位。文章还指出人们对英语专业和英语学习存在的一些误区，从不同的角度提出一些改进办法。
