ABSTRACT

As an audio-visual art, film is the most influential mass media, which follows and reflect the lives of the people, it is also a particular cultural product. Title of the film as a part of film language is the first part to face the audience of the film, the translation of which is a key element to promote publicity. Film titles, the form is short, but rich in content, including the unique cultural, linguistic and aesthetic characteristics. Translating movie title should be concise, condensed, compact, in order to capture the public's first impressions, associations to promote their circumstances, the title should also reveal the theme or to provide some clues for the audience. This paper analyzes the main characteristics of film titles, and the translating methods of movies titles in different parts and under different cultural backgrounds, the movie title translation should be combined with specific cultural ,and choose the appropriate method of translation in order to be understood and accepted by the audience.

摘要

作为一种视听艺术，电影是最有影响力的大众媒体，它遵循并反映人民群众的生命，它也是一种特别的文化产品。电影片名作为电影语言的一部分，是电影第一面对受众的部分，其翻译自然是电影推广宣传的关键一环。电影片名，其形式短小，但内涵丰富，包含了特有的的文化，语言和审美特征。翻译电影片名应简明扼要，浓缩，紧凑，为了可以抓住观众的第一印象，促进其对情节的联想，标题还应该揭示主题或是为观众提供一些线索。本论文分析了电影片名的主要特点和不同的文化背景下不同地区电影名的翻译方法，探讨了电影片名翻译应该结合特定的文化，选择恰当的方法进行翻译已以观众理解接受。
