摘  要

希思克利夫的爱与恨成就了《呼啸山庄》。文章试图给希思克利夫一个新的认识。希思克利夫的爱与恨是小说的深刻主题，但是它们并不是孤立存在的，更不是个人身上发生的巧合，在其背后有着深刻的根源。文章从三个方面分析了希思克利夫的爱的表现形式：纯洁的爱、疯狂的爱和灵魂中的爱，这是希思克利夫的爱在不同阶段的主要表现形式。文章把他的恨的表现形式归纳为无形的报复和赤裸裸的掠夺。正是通过这两种方式，希思克利夫疯狂地报复了破坏了他的爱的人们。最后文章对希思克利夫的爱与恨的根源做了深入的分析。从希思克利夫爱与恨的表现形式及其根源的分析中，我们可以看出，希思克利夫的爱是被扭曲了的，而他之所以恨正是受当时不平等的社会的迫害而表现出的奋力的反抗。他复仇了，但是他是一步步被逼向复仇之路的。所以我们应该结合当时的社会背景认识和理解希思克利夫，而不是一味地对其进行指责。

On the Love and Hatred of Heathcliff

                                 
ABSTRACT

Heathcliff’s love and hatred makes Wuthering Heights one of the greatest English novels. This paper tries to give Heathcliff a new cognition. As the most profound theme of the novel, Heathcliff’s love and hatred does not exist alone or emerge accidentally, behind which there are deep roots. This paper analyzes the forms of Heathcliff’s love in three aspects: the pure love, the crazy love and the love in soul. These forms are the main concrete expressions of Heathcliff’s love in different time. And this paper studies his hatred forms in two dimensions: the invisible revenge and the undisguised looting. Through these means Heathcliff achieves his aim to avenge all the people who have destroyed his love. At last the paper delves into the deep roots of Heathcliff’s love and hatred. From the analysis of the forms and the deep roots of love and hatred, we can see that Heathcliff’s love has been distorted, and his wild hatred is his revolt to the unequal social hierarchy. He revenges all the people who have destroyed his love but he is forced to the way of revenge step by step under the great pressure of other people and the society. We should put him in the special social background to understand him instead of always finding faults with him.
