Abstract
With the application of medium in English class, the teachers begin to look for new teaching methods of second language learning, which are based on medium, one of which is music-assisted teaching method. Some western countries have been doing research on it for a long time from different perspectives, such as Five Hypothesis by Stephen D Krashen and Multiple Intelligences by Howard Gardner and have put the theory into practice in primary schools, middle schools and universities, where they did many music-assisted experiments in language classes. But the research and application of music-assisted teaching method in China are not profound and abroad enough, so given this background, the author carries out an investigation on the impact of English music upon English study among junior and senior students on Nanhai campus of South China Normal university, by means of the questionnaire, interviews, site survey etc. In this case study, the author got that result that students on Nanhai campus favored this teaching method very much. In the present paper, the theoretical support for music-assisted teaching method and its application in foreign countries are firstly introduced. And then according to the statistical result of the data provided by the questionnaire and the information from interviews and site survey, the feasibility of music-assisted teaching method on campus is followed. At last, suggestions on standards for English songs used in class and different usages in different classes are given. It is sincerely hoped that the paper can work as a case study in second language learning for teachers’ reference and promote the development of the language teaching and learning method on Nanhai campus.

摘要
随着多媒体在英语课堂中的应用,老师开始探索以多媒体为基础的新的二外教学方法。音乐辅助教学就是其中一种。西方某些国家已对此从不同的角度,例如五个假说、多元智能等,进行了长时间的研究,并将理论应用到实践当中,在小学、中学、大学进行了以多项以歌曲为语言学习辅助手段的实验。鉴于中国在此方面的研究与应用还不够深刻与广泛,本文作者选择以华南师范大学南海学院为研究案例,通过问卷调查、采访、实地考察等手段,对该学院学生关于英文歌曲的学习效用认同程度进行研究调查,得出该院学生对该教学方法十分支持。文中作者先介绍对歌曲应用的理论支持与应用情况,再通过问卷结果分析在南海学院英语课堂中引入歌曲的可能性,最后在选歌与应用课程两方面提出建议。希望该文能够作为南海学院二外学习的一个研究案例,促进教学和学习方法的发展。
