从顺应论角度研究汉语谚语的英译
谚语是对日常生活的经验总结，其语言通俗易懂并为人们所广泛而重复地使用并将它们一代一代地往下传。维索尔伦提出了从语用学的角度研究语言的使用的方法。本文从他所创立的顺应论的角度探讨汉语谚语的英译。谚语是熟语的一部分，并且在交际中有其特殊的功能。通过研究发现顺应论在谚语翻译的过程中具有很强的指导作用。在谚语的英译过程中，译者必须动态地顺应语境，源语言和目的语的语言结构特征以及不同读者的接受程度，其中包括译者要顺应读者的不同文化，顺应读者的不同宗教信仰。顺应论的应用为翻译的研究提出了新思路，拓宽了翻译研究的领域。

A Study of English Translation of Chinese Proverbs from
the Perspective of Adaptation Theory
 
Proverbs are summaries of the daily experience, and are simple and popular sayings that are popularly known and repeated, which are passed down from generation to generation. This paper intends to explore the English translation of Chinese proverbs from the perspective of Verschueren’s theory of adaptation, which proposes a pragmatic perspective on language use.
Proverbs are one part of the idiomatic phrases and have their special functions in communication. Through the process of Chinese proverbs’ translation study from the perspective of adaptation theory, a conclusion can be drawn that adaptation theory plays a quite important role in the English translation of Chinese proverbs. During the process of investigation, the translator should dynamically adapt to cultural context, linguistic characteristics, and the readers, including different readers’ culture and their religious belief. The application of adaptation theory in translation provides a new thinking and broader space for translation study.
