英语委婉表达的语用阐释
摘  要

委婉表达一种语言现象，一种文化现象，更是一种社会现象。作为一种特殊的语言表达方式，它内容丰富，能从各方面反映一种语言的特征及规律。文章认为在实际交际过程中，委婉表达是人类言语交际中用来协调人际关系和社会关系的重要手段，它具有避讳、礼貌和掩饰等语用功能。文章将侧重于以语用学的基本理论来分析英语委婉表达，来阐释英语委婉表达与语用原则之间的关系：它遵循里奇提出的礼貌原则但违背了格赖斯的合作原则，它的选择和理解都依赖于语境。因此，对于学习者来说，如何在日常交际中有效的使用英语委婉表达尤为重要。

Analysis of Euphemistic Expressions from the Pragmatic Perspective
 

ABSTRACT

    Euphemistic expression is not only a linguistic phenomenon, but also a cultural and social phenomenon. As a special pragmatic phenomenon, euphemistic expression can reflect the characteristics of language from different aspects. It deeply influences social life and reflects social values and cultural values. The thesis holds that in communication euphemistic expression is an important means for coordinating all kinds of relationships. In communication, euphemistic expression functions as a way of avoiding taboo and showing politeness. The paper focuses on analyzing pragmatic characteristics of English euphemistic expression, showing the relationship between euphemistic expression and pragmatics: It is closely related to Politeness Principle of Leech, violating the Cooperative Principles of Grice, the choice and comprehension of euphemistic expression depends on context. Therefore, as a learner, how to use English euphemistic expression effectively in communication is of great importance.
