摘  要

文章论述了《麦田里的守望者》中霍尔顿天真的丧失与回归。《麦田里的守望者》是塞林格发表于1951年的一部长篇小说，在美国战后文学中被誉为“现代经典”。许多评论家曾从不同角度对其进行了研究，有的从霍尔顿对童年与成年本质的看法来评论,有的从霍尔顿的精神病症状角度来分析。作者尝试从“丧失与回归”的角度重新解读主人公霍尔顿的人生轨迹。文章分为三大部分，即引言、正文和结论。引言部分是对作家及小说的创作背景的简介。正文部分分别分析了周围环境以及人物对霍尔顿的影响, 以及他如何逐步地失去自我和原有的天真纯洁，接着指出霍尔顿的人生轨迹实际上是在向往着双重意义的“回归”,并进一步概括他在现实生活中的矛盾的行为方式；论文最后尝试对霍尔顿的外在表达和内在隐藏的愿望之间的矛盾进行分析。

The Loss and Return of Holden’s Innocence
in The Catcher in the Rye
 
ABSTRACT
This paper analyze the loss and return of Holden’s innocence in The Catcher in the Rye. The Catcher in the Rye was published by Jerome David Salinger in 1951. It is regarded as a “modern classic” in Post-war American literature. Lots of critics have commented it from different angles. Some critics make comments from the perspective of Holden’s view on the nature of childhood and adulthood, and some other critics make analyses from the angle of Holden’s symptom of neurotic. Author tries to make a new interpretation of the development of the hero Holden from the angle of “loss and return”. The paper consists of three parts: the introduction, the body and the conclusion. The introduction presents the writing background of The Catcher in the Rye and it is a brief introduction to the novelist. The body respectively analyzes the influence of the surrounding and the characters upon Holden, and how he is gradually losing himself and his original nature and purity. It is pointed out that Holden is actually longing for “return of his innocence” in the path of his life. This paper also exposes Holden’s contradictive behaviors and analyzes the contradictions between the external expression and the internal latent aspiration of Holden.
