英文商标词音译分析
摘  要

音译是英文翻译的一种重要方法,在英文商标词的翻译中也被广泛运用。文章首先介绍了商标词的含义及商标词的信息、美感和祈使三方面的功能。接着对商标词音译的进行了定义,并分析了音译产生的原因,即音译是对意译的补充,同时也是社会及文化因素影响的结果。然后,作者从语言学,文化,心理学三个方面对商标词音译的构词理据进行了分析。因为商标词的构成和人们心里感觉有很大关系,所以心理学构词理据也是影响商标词音译的重要方面,文章进而从寓意心理,听觉心理,形象心理三方面对其进行了探讨。

On the Transliteration of Brand Name from English to Chinese

 
ABSTRACT

Transliteration is an important method of English translation, which has been extensively used in the translation of English brand names. Firstly, this thesis defines the brand names and their three functions: informative function, aesthetic function and vocative function. Secondly, the paper gives a definition of transliteration, and analyzes the reasons for the transliteration in brand names. The reasons are mainly two: a supplement for paraphrase and a result of social and cultural factors. Then, this thesis delves into the motivation of transliteration of brand names, from the perspectives of linguistics, psychology, and culture. Because the information of brand names has close connection with human’s feeling, therefore, the psychological motivation is also a main factor affecting the transliteration of brand names a lot which contains the implication, sound effect and image motivations.
