浅析美国校园流行语
摘   要

校园流行语是校园文化的载体之一,有其特殊的形式和特定的使用范围。该文以美国校园流行语为研究对象,对其自身特点和外部联系进行了多方面考察分析。文章首先在阐述校园流行语定义的基础上论述了其三个重要特征:动态性、高频性和衍生性;然后从词语的构词法方面归纳得出复合法、缩略法等是流行语的主要构成方法,并加以举例分析;进一步从社会因素、文化因素和心理因素等方面分析了校园流行语的形成原因;最后论述了其对学生的正负两方面的影响。此外,文章还谈及校园流行语对外语学习的特别指导意义。作者希望通过分析校园流行语,帮助外语学习者能更清楚的了解校园流行语的构词特点和语义特点,促进对校园流行语的学习,从而进一步加深他们对美国校园文化的认识。

An Analysis of the Catchwords on
America Campus
 
ABSTRACT

Catchwords on campus are the most important representation of campus culture because of their special forms and specific range of users. This paper is to study the catchwords on American campus through the analysis of their own characteristics and the external linkage. This paper first gives the definition of the catchwords on campus and explains the three main characteristics: being dynamic, being high frequently used and being derivational. And then analyzes the word-forming mechanics, summing up the main forming approaches of catchwords are compounding, abbreviation etc, and analyses with examples. It also analyzes underlying causes of the catchwords from three ingredients: social factor, cultural factor and psychological factor. At last, it concludes both the positive and negative impacts of those catchwords on college students.
 The study of catchwords on campus will enable language learners to enlarge their vocabulary and understand their target languages better. As a result, it can promote foreign language learners’ understanding of the culture of the target language, which may help them understand and interpret catchwords on campus properly.
