网络英语教学之利弊探讨
摘  要

论文从多个角度对英语教育引入多媒体网络技术——网络英语教学作了初步的探讨。论文首先对传统英语教学模式作了一定的分析和反思，指出作为一种面对面的教学模式，它既有利于师生间的情感交流，也有利于教师根据学生差异来进行单独辅导，但它同时也受到时间和空间等其他因素的影响，不能为学生提供真实的语言环境。因而，传统的教学模式也远远不能满足英语教学的要求。于是多媒体技术和网络技术被逐步应用到英语教学中来，它们在教学手段、教学方法、教学思路、课堂教学结构乃至教学思想与理念方面都改变了英语教学。同时，通过对湖南工业大学英语专业教师和学生为对象进行的问卷调查，论文探讨了网络英语教学之利弊：网络英语教学可以提高学生的学习动机、创造英语语境、提高教学效率、改进教学方法。但作为一种新型教学模式，它也造成了经济上更多投入的负担、学生难以适应、老师在教学中感到苦恼。所以，为了更有效地应用这一新型教学模式来服务于现代英语教学，我们应扬长避短以达到最佳教学效果。

The Exploration of the Advantages and Disadvantages of Network English Teaching
 
ABSTRACT

Introducing the network into the English language teaching is the inexorable trend of the development of the English language teaching. This paper is to explore the application of network technology into the English language teaching. The thesis firstly analyses and reflects on the traditional teaching mode. As a face-to-face teaching mode, it is not only good for the emotional and direct communication between teachers and students but also good for teacher’s guidance to students according to their individual differences. However, it is restricted by time and place and can not provide a natural foreign language learning environment for students. The traditional teaching can not meet the needs of the English language teaching in such a developing society, so the multimedia technology and network technology has been adopted into the English language teaching gradually, which has caused great changes from such aspects as teaching strategies, teaching methods, teaching concepts, even class teaching structures in the English language teaching. Through the analysis of the practical investigations about the network English teaching with the object of the teachers and students who are majoring in English in Hunan University of Technology, the author points out that the network English teaching will surely motivate the learners’ interest, create a better English communicative environment for students, improve the efficiency of class teaching and improve the teaching mode in the English language teaching. However, as a new teaching mode, the network English teaching also has some disadvantages, such as financial barriers, students’ difficulty in adapting to this new teaching mode, and some English teachers’ vexation and so on. In order to apply this new teaching mode to serve the English language teaching more effectively, we should make good use of the advantages and avoid the disadvantages to achieve a better teaching effect.
