语义场在英语词汇教学中的应用
摘  要

通过调查研究表明,大多数中学生及大学生认为英语词汇对学习英语至关重要,但他们在学习英语词汇的过程中容易产生厌烦感并对已经记住的单词容易遗忘,为此有些同学放弃了对英语词汇的记忆。这种现象的产生与传统的英语词汇教学是分不开的。调查中发现有些同学喜欢用同义关系、反义关系、上下义关系以及联想法记英语单词,这种方法不仅迅速记住单词而且能扩大词汇量。因此老师在英语词汇教学中应该灵活地运用这些方法帮助学生更好地记住英语单词。根据语义场理论,词汇并不是孤立存在的,而是在概念上与其相关的其它词汇相互联系和影响的。词汇的意义很大程度上是由词汇之间的关系来定义的。因此我们得到启示:词汇教学中应该构建词汇之间的语义场关系。论文通过对语义场的起源背景及语义场的类型分析,探讨各类型语义场在英语词汇教学中的运用,旨在是帮助读者更快更好地记住英语单词。

Semantic Field in English Vocabulary Teaching
 
ABSTRACT

Investigation shows that English vocabulary is so important in learning English for most middle school and college students. But students often feel bored and forget English words easily during the progress of studying English vocabulary; some students even give it up, which is caused by the traditional English vocabulary teaching. Most students adopt the relations of synonymy, antonymy, hyponymy and association to remember English vocabulary from the investigation. It not only helps the students remember English words quickly but also enlarges their English vocabulary. Therefore, English teachers should use those ways flexibly to teach English vocabulary. 
According to semantic field theory, English words don’t exist in isolation but connect and influence interdependently with other words in conception. The meaning of a word is to a great extent defined by the relations among words, which makes it necessary to construct the semantic relationship between words. Through the analysis of the origin and types of semantic field, this thesis is to explore the application of different types of semantic field in English vocabulary teaching, which aims to help students remember English words better and more quickly.
