从习语的文化根源看英语习语的学习
ENGLISH IDIOM LEARNING FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF IDIOM’S CULTURAL ORIGIN

Abstract：Cultures shape languages. Cultures shape man’s thinking. However, the most vigorous part in a language is idioms. This paper probes English idioms from geographical environment, religion and belief, historical events and anecdotes, social custom, literary works, Greek and Roman mythology & fables, so as to better understand the cultural connotation of English idioms and relationship between English idioms and western culture. Then from the pespective of idiom’s cultural origin, the paper analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of English idiom learning by Chinese students, and find some ways for better learning.

摘要：文化塑造语言，同时塑造人类的思想。然而，文化中最有活力的部分非习语莫属。本文本着更好的理解英语习语的文化内涵以及英语习语及西方文化关系的目的，从地理环境、宗教信仰、历史事件、逸闻趣事、社会风俗、文学作品和古希腊罗马神话及寓言几个方面探讨英语习语。并且从习语文化来源地角度，分析了中国学生在学习英语习语时的有利和不利条件；并提出相应的学习方法。
