A STUDY OF COLLEGE ENGLISH VOCABULARY TEACHING—FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF CONTEXT THEORY

Abstracts: Vocabulary is crucial to English learning. Vocabulary teaching is an important component of the whole process of English teaching. The biggest problem students meet when they learn English is vocabulary. It is quite difficult for a student to improve his English level without high vocabulary ability. There are some problems to be solved in the traditional English teaching. Traditional English teaching only teach students the meaning and use of new words, not the memorizing skills. The traditional English vocabulary teaching is so inefficient that students do not know the rules of memorizing words and can not memorize words efficiently. This thesis aims to discuss how to teach university vocabulary under the theory of context in order to improve students’ learning efficiency.

语境理论下的大学英语词汇教学探究
摘要:词汇对于英语学习具有重要意义,词汇教学是整个英语教学中的重要组成部分。学生在学习英语的过程中,遇到的最大问题是词汇问题。没有扎实的词汇基本功,学生的英语水平很难提高。传统的大学英语词汇教学存在一些亟待解决的问题,它只把词汇的意义和用法教给学生,而没有教会学生记忆的方法,教学效率极低,学生不了解词汇记忆的规律,无法有效记忆词汇。本文从语境理论出发,探讨了如何在语境策略下进行大学英语词汇教学,提高学生学习词汇的效率。
