从奈达的功能对等理论看颜色术语的翻译
摘  要

颜色作为一种普遍的文化现象，在人们的日常生活中起着重要的作用。本文着重结合奈达功能对等翻译理论研究颜色词的翻译。文章首先介绍了颜色词的定义及其分类，其中分类包括：基本颜色词、实物颜色词和色度颜色词；并谈及红，黑，白，黄，紫和其它基本颜色词在两种语言中的异同。然后在奈达功能对等理论的指导下，文章通过了大量颜色词翻译的实例，探讨了为实现功能对等,在颜色词的翻译过程中一般采用了三种方法：直译法，意译法和混译法。

On Color Term Translation from Nida’s
Functional Equivalence Theory
 
ABSTRACT

Color, as a universal cultural phenomenon, plays a very important role in people’s daily life. Based on the theory of Nida’s functional equivalence, this paper is focused on the translation of color terms. It first introduces the definition of color terms and classifies them into three groups: basic color terms, color terms with colors of objects and color terms in shades. It also refers to the similarities and differences of “Red”, “Black”, “White”, “Yellow”, “Purple” and other colors of basic color terms in both English and Chinese. Then, under the instruction of Nida’s functional equivalence theory, this paper demonstrates and analyzes the translation of color terms and discusses how to make the functional equivalence when translating the color terms. It points out three approaches in the actual translation practice: direct translation, free translation and mixed translation.
