浅谈颜色词“黄”的中英文化内涵
摘  要

文章从语言与文化的关系入手，对比分析汉语和英语中黄色的文化内涵，指出黄色在中英文化中的语义重合与语义不相匹配的两种表现形式，其中英汉文化中语义重合表现为象征警告和象征悲伤与死亡，语义不匹配表现为各自不同的文化内涵；并总结出造成语义不匹配的原因。尽管英汉民族对黄色具有共同的生理感知，但是各个民族都有自己独特的文化传统, 这是由于不同的历史发展、社会环境和宗教信仰等因素所造成的，因此，英汉民族在理解和使用黄色上存在着巨大的差异。语言是文化的载体与映射，研究英语和汉语中黄色的文化内涵对其在跨文化交际中有启发性意义。

On Cultural Connotations of the Color Word “Yellow” in English and “Huang” in Chinese
 
ABSTRACT
This paper focuses on cultural connotations of the color word “yellow” in English and “huang” in Chinese. It begins with the research on the relationship between language and culture and then analyzes the cultural connotations of “yellow” and “huang” in English and Chinese. There are two semantic forms of connotations, one is semantic overlap, the other is semantic mismatch. Semantic overlap includes the symbol of the alarm, and the symbol of sadness and death; semantic mismatch expresses the specific cultural connotations of both. Due to different historical development, social environments and religions, every nation has its own distinctive cultural tradition. These cultural differences have effects on their languages, so the cultural connotations of yellow and “huang” in English and Chinese are very different; finally to find out the reasons which course the differences. Language is the carrier of the culture. The aim of this paper is to attract people’s attention to these commonly used the color of yellow and useful for the cross-cultural communication.
