论委婉语在商务谈判中的应用
摘  要
 
商务谈判实质上是通过语言进行的经济活动,其成功与否在很大程度上取决于谈判者的语言应用水平。作为最重要的语言策略之一,委婉语在交际中发挥重要作用。文章对委婉语的特点进行研究, 指出该如何恰当地将其应用在商务谈判中。文章从语言学角度分析了委婉语的三类构成方式,即语音委婉、语义委婉和语法委婉,并依据Leech的礼貌原则,归纳出它的两种主要交际功能:避讳功能和礼貌功能,并结合其在商务谈判中的应用实例来阐明委婉语在商务谈判中能起到积极的促进作用。文章结合委婉语和商务谈判各自的特点, 总结出几条在商务谈判中合理运用委婉语的途径, 包括运用被动语态、否定、情态动词等方式,目的在于帮助谈判者合理应用委婉语言营造出友好、合作的谈判氛围,使谈判得以顺利进行。

On the Application of Euphemism in Business Negotiation
                     
ABSTRACT
Business negotiation is in essence a kind of economic activity with the help of language. Whether it succeeds or not largely depends on the use of language. As one of the most important linguistic strategies, euphemism language plays an important role in communication. This paper makes research into the features of euphemism and studies how to use it in proper ways in business negotiation. From a linguistic point of view, the paper analyzes three kinds of formation of euphemism: phonetic means, semantic means and grammatical means, and according to Leech’s politeness principle, summarizes its two main communicative functions: avoidance of taboo, expression of politeness, and then illustrates the positive roles of euphemism in the course of business negotiation. Then the author summarizes several proper ways of applying euphemism to business negotiation, including: passive voice, disclaimer, modality, etc. The goal of this paper is to help negotiators use euphemism language in a proper way, which will help create the very atmosphere to make the negotiation go smoothly.
