Corpus Technology as a complementary method for L2 learning has been generally recognized. It offers increased access to linguistic resources.
An increasing number of studies have generated understanding of corpus use in L2 writing and proposed practical applications for writing teachers. Though not all results are consistent, this paper will focus on review of research progress on students’ corpora experience in L2 writing on three aspects a) quality of students’ corpus experience with corpus use. b) How students’ corpus use effects development of L2 competence. c) How it can be integrated into L2 writing instruction. Finally, this paper will make a summery based on review of research progress on students’ corpus use above and comment on its future perspectives.
