EFL写作中的逻辑断层现象研究


摘    要

本文重点研究学生EFL写作中的逻辑断层现象。目前中国大学生英文作文中存在的逻辑断层主要表现为连贯性差,条理不清,是影响读者理解的主要因素,也是制约学生作文水平的一个瓶颈。本文通过100篇不同类型的大学生英语作文的分析,主要研究了由于语句不衔接、文章话题不统一、谋篇逻辑性差以及英汉文化差异等四种原因所导致的逻辑断层现象。文章后半部分探讨了在EFL写作教学中克服学生作文逻辑断层的措施,分别为提高衔接连贯性的完形填空与七选五填充题,加强学生作文结构的逻辑性、克服汉语思维模式的控制性作文法,以及利用阅读与翻译练习来提高学生的语篇意识。文章最后认为,作文质量是学生英文水平的综合体现,加强语篇与文化教学是今后改善学生EFL写作水平的重要举措。

Abstract

This thesis focuses on logic-chain breaks in students’ EFL Writing. Logic-chain break generally means incoherence and illogical construction of text. This is a main factor which seriously influences readers’ understanding and blocks students’ development in writing. After an analysis of 100 EFL compositions, the author of this thesis studies mainly four kinds of logic-chain breaks appeared, including those out of inappropriate cohesion, poor topical continuity, illogical textual construction and cultural differences. In the latter part, some suggestions for avoiding logic-chain breaks in the EFL teaching are proposed, such as Cloze, the Joint-up exercise and the controlled compositions. The author also points out that a lot of reading and translation exercises are beneficial for students’ writing ability. In the end, he concludes that the quality of students’ EFL writing is a comprehensive reflection of their English level, and it is very important to strengthen the textual and cultural teaching.
