浅析中学英语课堂听力教学策略


Abstract
Listening comprehension is now acknowledged as an important facet of language learning. It is widely recognized as an active and interactive process. (Rost,1990). But listening competence is always the weakest point of English learners in China. Instruction in listening has too often been associated with testing, focusing on the product of listening. (Sheerin,1987). From the above two experts’ statements we can see the importance and test-oriented characteristics of the listening teaching in present middle school English class. As an English major in normal university, in this paper, the writer tries to make an analysis on and exploration into teaching strategies in the link of listening in middle school English class according to her own English learning experience undergone in middle school. Generally speaking, middle school students are very often put in a passive state in English class and what they need to do is only to follow the teacher’s way of teaching which is lacking in two-way operation. And that may have only trained the student’s test-oriented abilities, not to speak of the requirement of other abilities. So in the writer’s opinion, under the guidance of proper teaching strategies teachers may do their listening teaching better in class and obtain a better teaching quality. This paper will deal with the existing problems in present listening teaching process in middle school English class in order to find out some more practicable and effective teaching strategies, which may also be helpful to other English learners.

中文摘要
听力理解被公认为语言学习的一个重要层面,人们已经普遍认识到听力理解是一个活跃和互动的过程。(Rost,1990). 但听力始终是中国英语学习者的最薄弱项。听力教学总是经常与测试连在一起,老师更侧重于听力教学的产出。(Sheerin,1987).从以上两位专家的言论中我们可以看到听力教学的重要性和应试教育性。笔者作为英语专业师范生,根据自己在中学的英语学习体验,对中学英语课堂听力环节的教学策略进行分析和探讨。一般情况下,中国学生在英语课堂上处于比较被动的位置,他们需要做的只是跟着老师走,这样的课堂缺乏双向交流合作。而这只能培养学生的应试能力,不要说其它的能力要求。所以,在笔者看来,在恰当的教学策略引导下,教师可以在课堂上做得更好,取得比较好的听力教学质量。本文通过对现阶段听力教学所存在的问题进行分析,寻求可行有效的教学策略。同时希望笔者的一些探讨对其他英语学习者也有所帮助。
