英语科技术语的构词特点及其翻译

Abstract

With the increasingly frequent international exchanges, sci-tech terminologies play a very important role in our work and lives. The paper elaborates the features of the word-formation of sci-tech terminologies from the lexical features of EST, EST lexical source and EST word-formation. To be familiar with the features of the word-formation of sci-tech terminologies, the translator can have an ider when they face the number of EST terminologies and help explore new words and meanings. The translation of EST terminologies play a vital role in EST translation, this paper discusses the translation of EST terminologies from transliteration, graphological translation, literal translation and free translation. In this thesis, we can command the elementary skills of the features of the word-formation of sci-tech terminologies and their translation, and the goal of promoting our scientific research and producing can be achieved.

摘要

随着国际交往的日益频繁，科技术语在我们的工作和生活中无处不在，并扮演着重要的角色。本文就科技英语词汇的性质，科技英语词汇的来源和构成这三方面来论述英语科技术语的构词特点。通晓英语科技术语的构词法，可以使得译者在面对浩瀚如海的科技词汇时心中有数，有助于探求新词新义。科技术语的翻译在科技英语翻译中占有举足轻重的地位，本文参照音译法、形译法、直译法、意译法对科技英语术语的翻译进行了探讨。熟练掌握各种英语科技术语的构词特点及其翻译，能有效地促进科研工作和生产建设。
