学习风格对大学英语教学的启示


摘  要
随着中国现代化进程的加速与世界其他国家间交往的日趋频繁,教育已蓬勃发展起来。大学英语教育不得不适应其步伐,并形成一种简化的教育系统,必须更好地利用现代教育理论的成果并致力于学生实际运用英语的能力。在此环境下,必须重视培养学生的学习自主性以及尊重学生的个体差异。如何让学习者了解并调整自己的学习风格成为每一个教师关注的问题。因此,有必要对学习风格进行更深入的研究。本文采用问卷调查来调查研究学生学习风格的差异,从而探讨对英语教学的启示。研究结果表明:学生的学习风格存在很大差异,如听觉型,视觉型,触觉型等,多样化的学习风格对英语教学有着重要启示。首先,教师应根据学习者的学习风格,对学习者进行个性化指导,发现学习者的学习自主性。其次,教师应根据视觉、听觉、触觉等不同类型学习者的学习特征来具体实施教学策略。

The Implication of Learning Style
on College English Teaching
Abstract
   With the acceleration of China’s modernization and the increase of cooperation and communication between China and other countries, education has advanced greatly. To be in line with such rapid advances, college English teaching has to adapt itself to forming a streamlined education system. It must make better use of the results of modern education theories and focus itself on improving the student’s practical ability to use English. In the case of second-language in non-English environment, emphasis should be laid on the training of Chinese learners’ autonomy ability to learn English and respect for individual learner differences. How to adapt the learners to their learning styles is what every instructor is concerned about. Therefore, more in-depth and systematic studies in this area are needed. This paper uses the questionnaires to survey the differences of students’ learning styles and to probe into the implication of learning style on college English teaching. The results of the investigation show that there are some important implications, which are introduced as follows. Firstly, teachers should be based on the learner’s learning style to guide students learning. Secondly, teachers should implement teaching strategies based on different types of learning features of students.
