The Influence of Task-Based Language Teaching on English Writing

Abstract

Task-based language teaching method gradually developed in the 1980s, it is a foreign language teaching method which is widely applied by linguistics and foreign language teaching practitioners. In China, writing is always a weak aspect of English teaching. In spite of the hard work of many teachers and scholars, the effect is still not satisfactory. And all students .regard writing as a tough job that can't be accomplished, some even give it up. Currently, the National New Standard for English Curriculum promotes definitely the TBLT to improve students' overall English competence. This thesis mainly includes the current education background; the definition, essence and characteristics process and the various stages of task-based language teaching; How to use in writing, the influence of task-based language teaching and how to grasp the method in teaching. It is the development of communicative language teaching. In the world,people focus on the task-based language teaching widely. The topic will help English teachers in English writing in the later whether to use it, how to do it, how to avoid problems using task-based approach in writing, and finally achieve the teaching purpose!

任务型教学法是从20世纪80年代逐渐发展起来,广为应用语言学家和外语教学实践者认可和接受的一种外语教学方法。在我国,写作一直是教学中的薄弱环节,尽管不少教师为此做了大量的科学研究以及实践工作,但都收效甚微。学生将写作看作是一个无法完成的任务、甚至放弃,这使得学生的写作能力始终达不到预期的效果。当前,我国《英语课程标准》中明确提倡任务型教学模式,培养学生综合语言运用能力。本论文主要包括当前的教育背景;任务教学法的定义、本质、特点、过程和各个阶段;任务型教学法如何在写作中进行运用,任务教学法对于写作的影响以及怎样很好的把握任务型教学法在写作教学中的教学。本论文的研究有助英语教师在以后的英语写作中是否要采用任务型教学法,以及怎样做,能够避免任务教学法在写作中所出现的问题,最终达到教学目的!
