Perspective on American Automobile Culture
Abstract
American automobile, the epoch-making modern industry product, from its birth, has been entrusted with humanity's values, the life shape, and the emotion demand and so on. Besides, it directs the different crowd's esthetic orientation. Thus it has formed its unique automobile culture. Automobiles are so important for Americans that they can not live without them. Automobiles are their friends, partners, family members, or even their favorite lovers. Americans believe that the role of automobile is important in shaping the overall characteristics of America. American automobile culture is diversified, wide and deep, it also reflects the American values. This paper analyzes the phenomenon from the angle of its culture-its automobile culture: the formation of American automobile culture and the features of American automobile culture. As is known, the automobile culture is important to the society, economy and culture of America, therefore, a deep insight of it may give us a direct cognition of the American and a better understanding of America.
