简述艾略特宗教信仰的探求过程

诺贝尔文学奖获得者艾略特被誉为是20世纪英国文学史上最具影响力同时也是饱受争议的诗人、文学批评家。因其独特的诗歌艺术，以及对现代西方社会问题的剖析，对后人造成的影响一直受到评论界的关注。现当代对于他的各方面研究也是在不断深入，特别是对于他在其诗歌中所体现的宗教思想更是其中一个焦点。本文将浅析艾略特对于宗教信仰的探求过程以及宗教对其诗歌创作的重要影响。文章共分为三个部分，第一部分简要介绍了艾略特的生平及其主要文学作品；第二部分分析了艾略特宗教信仰的探求过程，即早期家族唯一神教对他的影响，求学时期对于印度佛教的研究以及最终皈依英国国教；第三部分分析了其宗教信仰在其作品四个四重奏中的体现。

A Brief Analysis on The Development Process of T.S.Eliot’s

Religious View                                    

Abstract
Nobel Literature Prize winner, Eliot, who is known as the most influential poet and literary critic in history of English literature in the 20th century, is also very controversial meanwhile. Because of his unique poetry art, the analysis of the problems of modern western society and the big impact on later generations have made him be the concern of critics all the time. Especially the study of his religious thinking reflected in his poetry is a focal point among them. This paper will explore the development process of T.S.Eliot’s religious view and the influence of his religious beliefs towards his creating of poetry. It is divided into three parts. In the first part, it will give a brief introduction about T.S.Eliot’s life and his major works; the second part focuses on analysis the development process of his religious view, they are his early religious view, the Hinduism towards him and his final conversion to Anglo-Catholic; the last part regards Four Quartets as a example to concrete his religious faith.
