分析《喜福会》的亲情关系以培养一个正确的家庭观念

Abstract

This paper aims to foster a proper family value, by means of referring to the literature works on kinships of American citizens of Chinese origin and emphasizing the important part Xiao (Filial Piety), virtually playing in adjusting the parent-child relationship. Mother-daughter relationships are the main theme in Amy Tan’s work The Joy Luck Club. As a Chinese American writer, Amy Tan has been influenced by both Chinese and American cultures, in spite of her Chinese heritage. Most of her works including The Joy Luck Club have been the popular research materials for scholars and sociologists. In terms of the feminism, gender and race, there are already a great deal of research results. However, there is still a lack of analysis on kinships of her typical work The Joy Luck Club at the aspect of Chinese tradition in the bone of Chinese. The precious Chinese family virtue, filial piety reflected in this work is worth deeply researching into. Significantly, this paper starts from the perspective of filial piety and employs the technique of comparison, with the cultural data of Chinese tradition as reference. Traditionally, people tend to emphasize the supreme authority of the parents a lot, but greatly ignore the needs or requirements from the children. Such misunderstanding of kinship must be modified. Wise parents, who do care about the children’s feelings, should pay more attention to the balance of kinship statuses; therefore, as return, the beloved children should pay filial piety to their parents. Such kind of family equality conduces to keeping a healthy and prosperous family, with the more excellent offspring follow.

中文摘要
亲子关系，攸关家庭的美满、社会的安宁、国家的兴盛，以及人类的幸福。美国著名华裔女作家谭恩美的成名小说——《喜福会》描写了四位性格、命运各异的中国女性移居美国，与她们各自在美国出生、成长的女儿的母女关系。本文通过参照《喜福会》中的家庭观念,对华裔的亲子关系的中美文化特点进行分析比较，旨在研究出符合人文特点及适应社会发展的正确家庭价值观,并指出孝亲的情怀对良性亲子关系的影响。本文从文学作品的家庭观念出发，对比美国华裔文学作品中的不同家庭价值观，取其精髓，去其糟粕，从而提取文学精华中汇集的传统美德，加以吸纳现代正确价值观，发展优良的亲子关系，形成正确的家庭价值观，为父母与子女搭建一座心与心沟通的桥梁。
