  On Language Skills in Business English Telephone Etiquette
Abstract: Business English telephone as a widely - used means of communication in current society,has its own characteristics. In order to transmit information both telephone conversation sides of communication can only rely on language to express purpose,to establish and maintain relationships. Decent telephone conversation is the lubricant of social interaction. It is a manifestation of language. So it is very important to learn the Business telephone etiquette. Business telephone etiquette contains much.
    This paper from the language skills in business telephone etiquette analyzes the situations in different telephone etiquette strategy and the efficient way to realize the positive effects of using liturgical and decent language. In the first part, it introduces the definition and importance of English telephone etiquette. In the second part, the paper analysis the situation of telephoning, answers the telephone and hangs up the telephone. There are many examples about daily business telephone conversations to tell the universality of business telephone etiquette, the importance of language skills in business telephone etiquette. Then,it talks about the language skills of business telephone etiquette in detail. Such as on the business telephone language between Chinese and English,choices of business telephone words,sentences choices and calls to maintain. In the conclusion,this part stresses the importance of business telephone again. Analysis the language skills of business English telephone etiquette, not only help us fully understand the international business telephone conversation,but also help us get more knowledge of telephone language skills,improve ability to apply knowledge to communicate,so as to achieve effective communication for business purposes. It provides a new perspective for the business phone etiquette in the language of study.

摘要:英语商务电话是当今商务活动中经常使用的一种交际方式。电话会话的交际双方只能靠语言来传递信息,表达目的,交流感情,以建立和维持人际关系。得体的电话会话是社会交往的润滑剂,是语言能力的一种表现。所以掌握电话礼仪非常关键。商务电话礼仪包含的内容也比较多。
    本文从商务电话礼仪中的语言技巧的角度分析了在不同情境中的电话礼仪策略以及实现这些得体礼仪效果的语言手段。首先,介绍了商务电话礼仪的定义和重要性。接着,分析打电话情景,接听电话情景,挂电话礼仪情景中的商务电话礼仪,列举很多工作中常用的商务电话对话,来说明商务电话礼仪在我们日常生活中的普遍性,语言技巧在商务电话礼仪中的重要性。然后,详细论述商务电话礼仪的语言技巧。如中英商务电话礼仪用语分析,商务电话词汇选择,句式选择,通话的保持等。最后是总结,再次强调商务电话在国际商务活动中的重要作用,分析商务英语电话会话,不仅有助于我们全面理解商务英语电话会话规律,而且有助于我们掌握相关的语言技巧,提高运用知识进行交际的能力,从而达到有效地进行商务沟通的目的。为商务电话礼仪中的语言研究提供了一个新的视角。
