委婉语在国际商务谈判中的应用

加入WTO之后，中国的对外国际贸易活动日益频繁，国际商务谈判也越来越普遍。国际商务谈判是国际货物买卖过程之中必不可少的一个重要环节，也是签订买卖合同的必经阶段。国际商务谈判的内容比国内贸易中的洽谈相对复杂，因为交易双方分属于不同的国家或地区，彼此不仅有着不同的文化背景、价值观念、和民族习惯，而且还有语言和文字沟通方面的困难。将语言表达技巧和谈判内容二者有机结合起来是提高国际商务谈判成功率的保证。在国际商务谈判中，常借助委婉语礼貌、间接地陈述自己的观点，提出要求或是建议，以便建立良好的商务环境，在国际竞争中获取成功。文章分为三部分，第一部分介绍委婉语和谈判的理论知识。第二部分介绍委婉语在国际商务谈判中的应用。第三部分以例子具体介绍委婉语在国际商务谈判中的应用。 本文希望通过对委婉语在国际商务谈判中运用的分析，能更好的挖掘委婉语委婉语在国际商务谈判中的使用技巧，借此提高英语学习者、商务人士在委婉语方面的应用能力。

The Application of Euphemisms in International Business Negotiations

Abstract

After China joined the WTO, its international trading activities are rising day by day. Thus, international business negotiation becomes more and more common. International business negotiation is a necessary and important process in the international trading and is a unavoidable process of singing trading contracts. International business negotiation is more complicated than the domestic communication, because trading sides belong to different countries or areas; therefore, they have various cultural backgrounds, different value concept and custom. And they have difficulties in communication in the aspects of languages and words. The combination of skills in linguistic expression and contexts in negotiations is a guarantee of the success of international business negotiations. Euphemisms are frequently employed in international business negotiations to politely and indirectly state one’s viewpoints and make requirements and suggestions so as to establish harmonious business environment and gain success in international competition. This article is divided into three parts. The first part deals with the theoretical introduction of euphemisms and international business negotiations. The second part concerns about the employment of euphemisms in international business negotiations. The third part is displayed with a lot of examples to illustrate the concrete application of euphemisms in international business negotiations. This article wishes to understand the skills of euphemisms used in international business negotiations and to improve English learners and business persons of applying ability about euphemism through the analysis of application of euphemisms in international business negotiations.
