一项高中生英语学习、课外英语投资及满意度的调查研究


英语作为国际通用语,扮演着十分重要的角色,受到世界各国和各国人民的重视。由于英语学习热潮不减越来越多的人选择投资英语学习,而这种现象在高中尤为突出。高中生这种课外英语投资现象引起许多学者的关注,对于高中生选择课外英语投资的原因及其产生的影响,都是值得探讨的问题。本文从高中生的需求角度,通过分析三者关系得出对英语教学的启示。
本文通过定性和定量分析,并基于学生需求角度,探究了高中生英语学习需求、投资和满意度三者之间的关系。本位运用问卷调查和非正式访谈的形式对石家庄市三所高中院校的高二年级的同学进行调查,找出现阶段高中生的英语学习需求,以及需求背后的动机,具体如下:对英语课本的需求,对英语成绩的需求,对英语语言能力的需求,而这些需求得不到满足,而且高中生的学习动机主要为工具性动机。所期望的效价即满意度,主要体现在:课外英语投资使高中生学到很多课外知识,并提高了成绩。
    全文共分五部分:第一部分是引言,主要阐述了高中生课外英语投资的背景,并针对课外英语投资中的问题提出假设,指出选题的意义。第二部分是需求理论和英语学习动机理论,以及期望价值理论。回顾了国内外对外语投资情况及需求与动机的相关研究,阐述了与需求、动机、期望价值相关的概念及需求与动机的分类。第三部分是对石家庄市三所高中高二年级同学课外英语投资的调查和研究,并进行分析。第四部分是讨论,通过理论与实践分析得出调查的结果,并在最后对英语教学提出建议,希望老师要充分重视学生的需求,合理引导学生选择和使用融合性动机,使学生提高自己的语言应用能力。

Abstract

English regarded as lingua franca, plays an increasingly important role in countries and are valued around world. As for the individual, English is considered as the significant knowledge. Especially, for high school students, they will take the college entrance exam. Therefore more and more high school students choose to invest on extra-curricular English, and this phenomenon causes more scholars to study. It is worth studying the reason of high school students’ investment on extra-curricular and its influence.
This paper adopts a qualitative and quantitative combined method. Based on high school students’ needs in English learning, The paper investigates three high school students form grade two, in Shi Jiazhuang, by questionnaire and informal interview. It find out high school students’ needs, including the need for English textbook, the need for academic achievement and the need for language proficiencies. And their main motivation in English learning is instrumental motivation. As for the satisfaction, most students think that the investment on extra-curricular English makes they learn more extra-curricular knowledge, and improve their academic achievement.
This paper is divided five parts: first part is introduction, which introduces the background and significance of this paper. Second part is literature review, which introduces the research abroad and domestic about foreign language investment and learners’ needs in English learning. Third part is research methodology, forth part is discussion and analysis, fifth part is conclusion, which gives some suggestion for English teaching: teachers should focus on students’ needs and should guide them use integrative motivation. Hopefully, this paper is instructive and meaningful for the high school English teaching reform.
