跨文化交际背景下的中英文禁忌语对比研究

禁忌语是世界各民族之间普遍存在的一种文化现象，它规范了人们的言语行为与社会交际。语言是文化的载体，又是文化的一部分。而中西方文化的巨大差异导致了汉英禁忌语的迥异。所以，无论是英语还是汉语，我们都会遇到一些因传统习惯或社会风俗不同而引起对方强烈的反感，结果导致了交际失败的现象。学习禁忌语并且了解汉英两种禁忌语的语用差异，有利于得体地进行跨文化交际。
本文共分为四章：首先，在引言中简单介绍了本文的写作动机和文章结构，以便让读者对全文有大致的了解。在接下来的第一章中，主要介绍关于国内外对禁忌语的研究外，可以说第一章的内容是下文对中英禁忌语异同分析的理论基础。第二章展示了禁忌语的一些概况，其中包括了禁忌语的定义、起源、特征以及作用。第二章接下来的部分，也就是本文的核心内容，从宗教、隐私、性、名字、称谓等方面分析了中英禁忌语的异同以及它们的文化起因。找出汉英两种禁忌语的共性与差异。第三章，介绍了禁忌语的回避策略，分别阐述了五种在跨文化交际中普遍用于回避禁忌语的策略，它们是：委婉语的利用，肢体语言的利用，善意的谎言，提问法以及从全球性的，文化的角度思考问题接下来是结语部分，总结本文。 希望本论文的研究能帮助汉语学习者和英语学习者加深汉英两种语言和文化的理解，提高跨文化交际能力，避免交际失败，达到理想的效果，减少汉英语言交际过程中引起的不悦，避免语用失误，从而实现有效的跨文化交际。

Abstract
 
Taboo is a kind of cultural and linguistic phenomenon. It commonly exists among all the cultures in the world and regulates people's social communication. Since language is the carrier of culture, and  also a part of the culture, the great differences between Chinese and western cultures lead to the differences of taboos between Chinese and English. As a result, communicative failures between Chinese and English speakers will arise if they fail to notice the linguistic gap. Therefore, it will be helpful for foreign language learners to learn to understand the cultural senses loaded with certain taboos in the target language so as to achieve an effective intercultural communication.
    This paper is divided into four sections: the introduction part gives a brief introduction of this paper and discusses the motivation of the study and the structure of the thesis in order to provide a general view on the whole thesis. The first chapter is the literature review on previous researches done at home and abroad. The second one, from almost all aspects such as title, social discrimination, evil curse words, vulgarities and number comparison, attempts to make an analysis on the similarities and differences between Chinese and English The following chapter presents five common strategies to avoid taboo-usage in intercultural communication such as euphemism, body language, white lies, asking questions and thinking globally and culturally, etc. These strategies are useful for us to prevent some unnecessary misunderstandings, conflicts or embarrassment in intercultural communication. Then comes to the conclusion part which talk briefly about the paper. I divided this part into two parts, they are  
implications and limitations .
