《喜福会》中的多元文化

本文旨在通过美籍华裔作家谭恩美的代表作《喜福会》，来探讨多元文化，并展示多元文化在全球化语境下对构建和谐社会的重要性。
本文主要从三大方面来阐述谭恩美在《喜福会》中所体现的多元文化。首先，通过对母亲们的坚强形象的分析，打破了东方主义话语下中国人的刻板形象，为中美文化交流提供契机，因为多元文化主义首先强调平等包容的原则。其次，小说所采用的独一无二的叙事技巧，即结合中国传统的说书技巧和美国多角度叙述的写作手法，表达了吸收各族文化精髓的积极思想和谭恩美对多元文化共存的美好愿望。论文最后分析了小说中母女关系因为爱从冲突走向相互谅解的过程，象征着中美文化从矛盾走向融合，进而展示了全球化语境下因持的文化态度：继承母文化，吸收新文化，从文化冲突中找到平衡。

On Multiculturalism in The Joy Luck Club

Abstract: This paper aims to explore Multiculturalism by analyzing Amy Tan’s masterpiece The Joy Luck Club and show the importance of multiculturalism for building a harmonious society under the context of globalization.
This paper discusses multiculturalism of The Joy Luck Club from three aspects. Firstly, by analyzing the image of strong Chinese mothers, the stereotypes of Chinese people in Orientalist discourse are deconstruct, so that dominant Americans hold equal vision for the Chinese people with which provides opportunities for the Sino-US cultural exchanges, since multiculturalism emphasizes the principle of equality and reconciliation in primary. Secondly, the novel creates a unique narrative strategy that combines traditional Chinese talk story technique with American multiple narrative skills to express the positive thoughts to absorb the essence of different cultures and show Amy Tan’s good wishes of multicultural coexistence. Thirdly, the paper analyzes the relationship between mothers and their daughters transferring from conflicts to mutual understanding, which refers to American culture transfers from the conflict to reconciliation with Chinese culture, and then the cultural attitudes to be held under the context of globalization is reflected: inherit traditional culture, absorb new culture, to find a balance in cultural conflict.
