由《老人与海》解读海明威的信仰

 “迷惘的一代”在—战后受到身体和心理的创伤，颠覆了旧的生活信仰和目标，在未及时形成一种新的生活目标之时，形成了心理上的断层。海明威深有体会，他一生都在探索人生的意义，在他的代表作《老人与海》中塑造出一个坚定勇敢不想命运屈服的硬汉形象，为人民指明方向，教给迷茫的人民以一种积极向上的态度待人生。小说虽然短小精悍，却浓缩了海明威一生观察社会，体味人生，反思人性的精华内容。本文从《老人与海》多个不同的具体场景，结合海明威的生平事例，从社会和人文视角，解读海明威不同层面的精神信仰，思考信仰在一个人处理人与自身，人与社会，人与自然的过程中所起的重要作用。

An Analysis of Hemingway's Faith from The Old Man and the Sea 

Abstract: The "lost generation" in postwar has suffered physical and psychological trauma, and twisted the old beliefs and goals in life. Before they formed a new life goal in time, some psychological faults appeared on them. Hemingway was exploring the life meaning throughout of his life. In his masterpiece The Old Man and the Sea, he built a tough image--Santiago, who indicated a new direction for confused people and taught people to live with a positive attitude to life. Though this novel is dapper, it concentrates Hemingway’s observation of enrichment of social life and the appreciation of the essence of human life. This paper will choose many different specific scenes to analysis Hemingway's different levels of spiritual faith with examples from The Old Man and the Sea together with Hemingway’s own life experience. Thus make us to think about the significant role of faith in people’s life, in society and in the relationship with the nature.
